The number one question I get asked as a wedding photographer is “What do we wear for our engagemenet photos?”. Here is the breakdown of what I tell all my clients.
STEP ONE: How many outfits??
Three seems to be the magic number in my opinon.
One casual outfit – This can be t-shirt, tank top, jeans
One date night outfit- Skirt, dress, whatever you feel amazing in
One formal outfit – Go glam! Do the dang thing. Wear that formal dress and suit!
And the last one for those who wanna do a couple mins in one last one is one sports outfit. Bust out those jerseys or t-shirts and rep your favorite team.
STEP TWO. COLORS
Okay so that is step one. How many outfits, and style but practically what does that look like? Let’s chat.
Colors
When in doubt wear white. Seriously. It will pop against any and every background whether you are at a park or downtown on a rooftop.
Khaki and white always look so classic together!
Blue, Green, White, and Red are my favorite colors for people to wear. They always pop and give a good contrast! Do not be afraid to wear color!!
