Whenever my former couples reach out to me to book my grow with me package it makes my heart so happy. I had the honor of photographing their wedding several years ago at The Bardot, and watching them grow from newlyweds into parents-to-be is my favoriteeeeee.
Whenever people ask what I photograph I typically tell them I “grow with my clients”. Over the past 15 years I have had to honor of being trusted with wedding days and then they come back for some of life’s most sacred moments — pregnancy, new babies, growing families — that trust means everything to me.
The Session — A Natural Light Studio in Kansas City’s Crossroads
We photographed this session in my all white natural light studio in Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District — one of my favorite locations for maternity sessions. The clean walls, bright open space, and beautiful natural light create the most timeless, airy images that never go out of style IMO at least 😉
Here’s something I tell every single one of my maternity clients before we even start — you do not need to know how to pose. That is literally my job and I loveeee it. From the second we walk in I am guiding every movement, every angle, every placement of hands. I’ll tell you exactly where to look, how to hold your body, what to do with your hands — all of it. My whole goal is for you to feel as beautiful as you actually are and for every single image to reflect that.

The Outfit Changes
Three looks gave us three completely different moods — and I love when maternity clients come prepared like this.
The casual denim and white look gave us fresh, bright and relaxed energy perfect for those intimate connection shots on the floor and against the wall.
The soft olive off-shoulder sweater dress brought a warm, earthy, cozy mood — perfect for those tender close-up moments and the floor poses where he wrapped around her completely.
The white ribbed ruffle sleeve dress was the showstopper. The way the light hit that white dress against the white studio walls created the most ethereal, dreamy portraits — especially that detail shot where the shadows played across her belly in the most beautiful way.

Growing With My Clients — My Favorite Thing
I started this business 15 years ago because I genuinely believe photos are one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and the people you love. But what I didn’t fully understand when I started was how incredibly meaningful it would be to walk alongside the same families through multiple chapters of their lives. I honestly get teary eyed whenever a couple or family returns.
When this couple reached back out to book their maternity session I was so full. They trusted me again with one of the most beautiful and vulnerable seasons of their lives and I will never stop being grateful for that. Ever.
If you’re expecting and looking for a Kansas City maternity photographer who will make you feel completely at ease, guide you through every single pose, and treat this chapter of your life with every bit of care it deserves — I would be so honored to be your photographer. And if we’ve already worked together before? COME ON BACK!! My grow with me package was made for exactly this.
